Recognizing the need for a secure online reservation system for their 3 Lodging Properties The Catania Hospitality Group contracted KISS Computing to write a custom program. The Program DORS was designed by lodging professionals for lodging professionals. It was designed to operate intuitively and efficiently. It will allow guests to book confirmed reservations through the internet without having to call a reservations desk. It will help close more sales (guests can confirm availability and price instantly). It will save reservation desk labor and save unnecessary third party commissions and fees. After achieving great internal success it was decided to share the technological competitive edge at a nominal cost. This decision was based on the need of the industry to slow the erosion of lodging sales from 3rd party resellers (ie travelocity, WorldRes, Hotels.com, Priceline, Expedia….). Why should a hotel pay commissions/Fees on the majority of internet reservations which are created by the exposure of the Internet and the hotels own marketing programs? With a Direct On-Line Reservation System the lodging industry can go DIRECT.
